So Far, So Good… So What! Information

So Far, So Good… So What! is the only album to feature drummer Chuck Behler and guitarist Jeff Young, who replaced previous members Gar Samuelson and Chris Poland. The album is an angry, emergent thrash album with fast beats and technically advanced riffs. It addresses a number of topics including nuclear holocaust, death and freedom of speech.

So Far, So Good… So What! was well liked by critics and through the support of fans, managed to get inside the Top 30 on the Billboard chart (US) despite no radio play. It would eventually achieve platinum status, selling 1,000,000+ copies in the US.

Three singles were released from So Far, So Good… So What!, the first of which was a cover of the Sex Pistols ‘Anarchy In The UK‘ with altered, UC-centric lyrics. The second was ‘Mary Jane‘, a song about the legend of a young Witch buried alive in Minnesota. The third single released from So Far, So Good… So What! was ‘Liar‘, the lyrics for which were inspired by Mustaine’s feelings towards his ex-guitarist, Chris Poland.
