An interview with Dave Mustaine about TH1RT3EN and other things…

TH1RT3EN Information

TH1RT3EN was released worldwide on November 1, 2011. The album debuted at #11 on the Billboard chart (US), selling 46,000 copies in the first week.

On the TH1RT3EN title’s meaning, Mustaine said in an interview: “I was born on September 13th; this is my thirteenth record. It just seemed like it was the right thing to do to call it “TH1RT3EN”.

The first single from TH1RT3EN to be released was ‘Public Enemy No. 1‘. The next release, ‘Whose Life (Is It Anyways?)’ followed about a month later.

‘Sudden Death’ was released as a single prior to the announcement of TH1RT3EN, commissioned by the publisher of video game series ‘Guitar Hero’, to promote ‘Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock’. All three singles were nominated for Grammy Awards.
